Across the NECE Festival, we have surfaced powerful examples of civic innovation. These ideas encourage us to rethink how people participate in democracy, engage across differences, and build local agency. But the real challenge begins now: how do these ideas travel beyond the festival? This Action Lab brings together selected participants, civic innovators, and practitioners to explore how democratic innovations spread, scale, and take root in different contexts.
Together we will:
- Identify the core elements that make civic ideas transferable
- Explore barriers to adoption across communities and institutions
- Work with real examples surfaced during the festival
- Co-create pathways for turning promising ideas into actionable tools others can use
The session will also generate new “seed ideas” from participants, with shared ownership and recognition of contributions. The outcome is not just reflection, but a set of practical directions for how NECE and its partners can move from showcasing democratic innovation to enabling its adoption across Europe.
