Marc Schoentgen

Marc Schoentgen is the director of the Foundation Zentrum fir politesch Bildung (Centre for Citizenship Education) in Luxembourg. He worked for many years as a history teacher in secondary schools before he helped set up the Foundation together with Michèle Schilt. In this role, he focuses on strengthening democratic awareness, critical thinking, and active citizenship, particularly through educational initiatives. He also oversees the development of teaching materials for schools and is involved in European civic engagement projects. His work emphasises the importance of understanding history and fostering democratic participation.
